Yulia Koroleva

FSI Centre of Grain Quality Assurance

Yulia Mikhailovna Koroleva was born in 1979. She graduated from the Moscow State Institute (University) of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation (MGIMO). She is a foreign economic relations expert.
Ms Koroleva has been working in FSFI “Center for Grain Quality Assurance” since April 2006, starting as Deputy Head and Head of the Department of Foreign Relations; she moved up to Deputy Director of FSFI “Center for Grain Quality Assurance” in 2008 and became Director in 2015.
Since her first days in the Institution, Ms Koroleva has tackled organizational work related to international cooperation, initial and advanced staff training.
Thanks to Ms Koroleva, FSFI “Center for Grain Quality Assurance” established cooperation with international organizations. The Institution is presently member of the Grain and Feed Trade Association (GAFTA) and possesses an international accreditation. It is currently accredited as Analyst and Superintendent in GAFTA. FSFI “Center for Grain Quality Assurance” is also member of the International Association for Cereal Science and Technology (ICC), the International Seed Testing Association (ISTA), the Federation of Oils, Seeds and Fats Association (FOSFA) and the American Association of Cereal Chemists (AACC).
Under her guidance, the Institution has been paying close attention to international cooperation. The Institution experts search, analyze and update requirements on quality and safety of grain and grain products set by foreign countries. There is also work in progress aimed at renovating the equipment of the Institution’s testing laboratories. New laboratory equipment for safety indicators measurement (GMO, heavy metals, pesticides, mycotoxins) was installed and is being efficiently used. This policy brought a sterling contribution to the food safety of the Russian Federation.
Working as Director, Ms Koroleva ensured the Institution took the opportunity to open new branch offices and laboratory points (centers) in Russian regions in the shortest delay. A bright example to that is the testing laboratory at the Temryuk point of the Novorossiysk branch; accredited in 2017, it is already providing the whole range of services listed in its accreditation. The system of interaction between clients and Rosselkhoznadzor authorities in the course of issuance of grain export permits was improved by opening a new “one-stop shop” service point in Novorossiysk.
Ms Koroleva managed to expand the geography and extent of the Institution’s activities. Thanks to many years of dedicated work, she was awarded the title of Honorary Worker of Agricultural Industry of Russia by the Ministry of the Agriculture of the Russian Federation. Ms Koroleva was also awarded commendations from the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation and the Federal Service of Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor).
