Fred Humberg


Fred Humberg has 28 years’ experience in sourcing grains in Brazil and international trade. Being a mix between executive and entrepreneur, Fred occupied director roles in multinationals of the sector, such as Glencore and Bunge, and invested in more than 20 companies over the years, including grain ports in Brazil, such as Terlogs  and TGSC  in São Francisco do Sul and Portoeste in Ilhéus.  Another invested company, Agriservice (founded in 2006), a grain sourcing and brokerage firm was sold to Gavilon in 2012, to serve as a platform for growth. Appointed CEO of Gavilon do Brasil he successfully managed and led the company to export almost 5mm tons in 5 years, making it Brazil’s 7th largest grain exporter, only behind the ABCDs, COFCO and Amaggi. He left Gavilon in mid-2016 to establish Agribrasil, a Brazilian grain sourcing company which is moving ahead to fruitfully conclude its second year of operations with an expected traded volume of 400k tons (of soybeans and corn), including a bold expansion plan targeting USD 330m revenues and 1.8mm tons in 2021, aiming to be a grain origination platform mainly for the Chinese market and the biggest independent GMO-free supplier in South America. Fred is also a Board member of Sotran, Brazilian biggest trucking co transporting over 14mm tons of grains per year and a director of ANEC, the Brazilian Grain Exporters Association.
