Molahlegi Mphateng

Mr. Molahlegi Mphateng serves as a Senior Agricultural Economist of the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. In that capacity Mr. Mphateng is responsible for Field Crops portfolio within the Directorate Marketing, under sub-directorate Commodity Marketing.  His work include amongst others, developing of Agricultural Marketing Value Chain Profiles for key field crops; developing Grain Market Early Warning reports and updating of the FAO-AMIS Secretariat with the South African balances for key AMIS crops on monthly basis. Prior to joining DAFF, Mr. Mphateng worked for the Western Cape Department of Agriculture as Agricultural Economist responsible for Market Analysis and Cooperative Support and Development within the Agribusiness and Marketing portfolio at Elsenburg, Stellenbosch. A native of Polokwane, South Africa, Mr. Mphateng is a graduate in Agricultural Economics with Honours from the University of Limpopo, Turfloop Campus, South Africa. Mr. Mphateng stands as a representative for the South African Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries on the FAO-AMIS Information Group on annual basis.
